CHASE CAMERON PERFORMANCE HQ | Costa Mesa

Where strength meets precision.

When basketball performance coach Chase Cameron secured his first brick-and-mortar training space in Costa Mesa, he wanted more than a warehouse gym—he wanted a home for his brand. The vision: a clean, simple, and high-functioning facility that reflects the discipline and focus of elite basketball training while staying financially strategic for a first commercial lease.

The Challenge

The space had great bones—a lower-level warehouse with open ceilings, natural light, and potential—but it also came with storage clutter, unreinforced walls, and a modest budget.
Our job was to maximize the investment, reimagine the layout for flow and performance, and create a brand-forward environment that would feel professional, intentional, and scalable as Chase’s business grows.

The Design Approach

We leaned into the simplicity of a modern strength and conditioning facility, combining raw utility with bold restraint.
Color Palette: Black, white, and Chase’s signature blue—balanced to feel athletic, not loud.
Flooring: Half black turf for movement drills and plyometrics, half black and white speckled rubber for lifting zones.
Wall Detailing: A subtle nod to classic basketball court design, using horizontal color blocking to wrap the walls and give the space visual rhythm.

Every inch was designed for performance. The long turf lane allows for explosive drills, med ball work, and agility sequences, while the rubber zone supports heavy lifts and equipment organization.

Engineering Meets Athletics

To integrate a regulation basketball hoop into the warehouse, we had to reinforce an entire wall below the upstairs viewing window. We spanned 20 feet with 2x8s, creating a concealed structural backbone strong enough to handle full-speed dunks—an impressive feat of engineering disguised behind smooth drywall inside the office above.

The Layout
Main Training Zone: Squat racks, Vertimax, dumbbells, belt squat, and functional training equipment—all strategically placed for seamless group or individual sessions.
Front Cardio + Lounge Zone: Instead of a traditional office, we created a hybrid warm-up and hangout space. A couch and soft lighting make it welcoming for athletes and parents alike—blurring the line between performance and community.

The Result

A refined, minimalist performance HQ that captures the essence of Chase’s coaching philosophy: focused, disciplined, and built for growth.
The space feels premium without unnecessary flash—proof that intentional design can elevate even a modest build-out into a professional athletic environment
