What We Loved at the HFA Trade Show: Top Home Gym Finds for 2025
Back in March, we hit the HFA Trade Show—an annual hotspot for the latest and greatest in fitness and wellness innovation. Our mission? To uncover the most compelling gear for design-forward home gyms and light commercial spaces. And trust us, we found some serious gems.
If you’re thinking about building or upgrading your home or studio gym, here’s what stood out most from the show floor. Whether you’re tight on space, focused on recovery, or looking to elevate your aesthetic, there’s something here for you.
🏆 Top Home Gym Equipment Picks from HFA
✅ Ancore Pulley System
Ultra-smooth, portable, and incredibly intuitive. This cable system lets you train like a pro, whether you’re in your garage or your guest room.
✅ Fitbench
We’re obsessed with multifunctional gear, and Fitbench nails it. It’s a compact bench with built-in weight storage—perfect for small spaces without sacrificing capability.
✅ Forme Lift
This might be the smartest smart mirror we’ve seen to date. Think sleek design, fluid movement, and intelligent resistance tech—all in one beautifully minimal interface.
✅ NOHRD
Where fitness meets fine furniture. Their handcrafted wooden equipment adds a level of sophistication that seamlessly integrates with luxury home interiors.
✅ REP Fitness
Known for pushing the limits, REP has stepped up with an all-in-one home gym setup. Add modular attachments, and you’ve got a powerhouse solution for strength, function, and style.
✅ Red Zone Sauna
Infrared meets red light therapy in one elegant package. This two-in-one recovery setup is a game-changer for home wellness spaces.
✅ Ecore Flooring
Rubber flooring—but make it luxury. Ecore offers options that mimic wood and woven textiles, marrying form and function for seamless gym-to-living transitions.
✅ BeaverFit
For the backyard warriors. These storage “lockers” double as full-scale gym setups, giving you the ultimate outdoor fitness suite.
✅ Torque Fitness
Sleds, ski ergs, and functional tools that raise the bar on conditioning—especially for athletes who need grit and versatility in their training.
✅ Hammer Strength
Their latest smart storage and training solutions make it easier than ever to pack a powerful workout into a tight footprint.
What’s Trending: Wellness + Functionality
This year’s show reflected a big shift: the fitness industry is finally catching up to how real people live and train. We saw more:
- Recovery-forward products like red light therapy and saunas
- Modular cable systems that pack major function into small spaces
- Design-meets-performance gear that doesn’t clash with your interiors
It’s exciting to see home wellness get the attention it deserves—and to see manufacturers designing for spaces outside of the traditional gym.
What We Didn’t See: Tech + Luxury Design
While we were impressed by much of what was on the floor, there were a few notable gaps that stood out to us as designers and builders in the luxury home gym space.
1. Smart Tech Brands Were Missing
We expected to see some of the tech giants—like Tonal and OxeFit, but they simply weren’t there. These companies are pushing boundaries in connected fitness, yet their absence left a noticeable void in the conversation around AI, digital coaching, and intelligent resistance training. As more of our clients ask for these features in their custom builds, we’re hoping future shows include a stronger presence from this sector.
2. Design-Forward Brands Were Underrepresented
We were also hoping to see more elevated, design-conscious equipment—the kind of gear that looks as good as it performs. Brands like Pent, Paragon Studio, and Watson are creating equipment that feels just as intentional as the spaces we design. Whether it’s walnut dumbbells, leather-accented benches, or boutique-style cable systems, this design-forward category deserves a spotlight at next year’s show.
For us at Beachside Custom Gym, it’s not just about function—it’s about how a space feels, flows, and integrates into your home or lifestyle. We’d love to see more vendors bridging that same gap between performance and aesthetic.
Final Thoughts
The future of home fitness is clearly headed in the right direction. From multi-functional setups to elevated recovery tools, this year’s HFA Trade Show was packed with promising innovations. But as demand grows for smarter, more beautiful, and more intentional home gyms, we’ll be watching closely to see which brands rise to the occasion next year.
